As president and chief executive officer and a member of the NI board of directors, Eric Starkloff is responsible for accelerating NI’s vision to drive long-term growth and innovation.
Starkloff began his career at NI as an application engineer and, for more than two decades, has been instrumental in defining and implementing the company’s strategic direction. His experience and leadership have focused on delivering results to NI’s key stakeholders through a strategy that is built on disruptive technology and informed by customer needs.
Starkloff has held many leadership positions since joining NI in 1997. Most recently, he served as president and chief operating officer, leading the company’s global sales, marketing, and R&D organizations. In this role, he evolved the company’s strategy and structure to better serve the needs of customers through industry-aligned business units focused on NI’s growth opportunities in the semiconductor; transportation; aerospace, defense, and government; and portfolio markets.
Starkloff is a thought leader and frequent industry speaker on topics such as the Internet of Things, 5G communications, and autonomous vehicles. He’s served on advisory boards for the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech and the Wireless Networking and Communication Group at The University of Texas at Austin.
He’s also an advocate for diversity in engineering and a deep believer in the responsibility of corporations and the positive impact they can make on both society and their surrounding communities. He’s a founding board member of Urban Roots, an Austin-based sustainable agriculture program that transforms the lives of young people.
Starkloff holds a bachelor’s degree with high distinction in electrical engineering from the University of Virginia.
